My name is Victor Forsythe

I grew up in Ecuador, South America and came to the USA and finished High School in Orange County California. I spent the Summer of Love in Haight Ashbury in San Francisco and met Timothy Leary in 1968 in Laguna Beach, CA. I joined the Brotherhood of Eternal Love and was arrested for sales of Hashish to an undercover narc in 1969.

I’ve driven to South America twice.It had all started back in 1969, when I was 20, and looked like Cat Stevens I was told all the time until in the 70’s people told me I look like Carlos Santana. Since I was thin at 5’10 and 130 lbs, at least that’s what many said and the best way to describe myself with my long curly hair and facial hair.

My mentor and hero at the time, Tim Leary, had just been busted near my house in the “Canyon”. Timothy Leary first came to Laguna Beach in 1967 and brought together artist, visionaries and peace activists. To the public, Tim was saying, “Tune in, turn on and drop out.” To us he was saying,“This military industrial complex, this insatiable beast is taking us to the brink of chemical, biological and atomic war. These people are madmen and we have to put some LSD into Johnston to cure his insanity!
We were the cure.

The President had conned the public into the most insane war ever on the made up stupid story that the US had been attacked by Vietnamese speed boats.
We had our meetings in the small enclave of houses on Woodland Drive off of Laguna Canyon highway.
This was what the locals called a very picturesque neighborhood in the sunny, seaside community of Laguna Beach, California. I was part of the Brotherhood of Eternal Love, a loose knit group of hashish dealers and surfers.
I was bringing LSD down from San Francisco and returning with hashish from Los Angeles.
We were making great money, with a big chunk given to fund the peace movement and the weather underground.
